Fixing a windshield chip before it spreads
I caught a stray rock on the highway this morning and now I have a small star-shaped chip right in my line of sight. Should I try one of those DIY resin kits from the store, or is it better to call a professional service?

I would strongly advise against the DIY route if you want the repair to be invisible and structurally sound. I’ve used Safelite Autoglass for mobile repairs in the past and they always do a much cleaner job than I ever could with a cheap kit. They usually come directly to your office or home, which is incredibly convenient because you don't have to waste half a day sitting in a waiting room. Getting it filled professionally ensures the chip doesn't spider-web across the whole glass when the weather changes, saving you a few hundred dollars on a full replacement.
